SCMCS Members' Rides
No "one off" too rare to drive collectibles. No park and chat car shows, no baby blue polo shirts.
We are the Wheelmen and these are our wheels.
The Wheelmen (carriage to coke bottle)
Your average collector may thumb his nose at the thought of these relics being modified and driven daily, but to you sir, I say shut your mouth and go to bed. We drive, and we drive hard. We break them, and then we make them better. Yes it's an endless cycle, but this is the point. The only thing I can think of that is more fun than turning a wrench on an American V8 is slamming through all 4 gears with the intoxicating perfume of spent high-octane mixed with warm rubber to the symphony of all 8 pistons clearing 5,000rpms. You know what I'm talking about. It's why you're here.
1973 Mustang Q-Code Convertible "Jezebel"
Meet "Jezebel". A rare 1973 Mustang droptop with a factory CobraJet Cleveland 4v and Hurst 4 speed toploader. Club President and owner, Brett Cadman was driven home from his birth in this car and has used her for a daily driver for 15 years and tricked her out with upgrades such as a Boss 351 spec rebuild, an Edelbrock 750 carb, a gnarly exhaust system, cd player and low profile 17 inch Bullit rims. An Eaton Posi-Trac unit delivers the power to the ground with a 3.73 final gear. She's a whole lotta' fun and the motor is built right!
1972 Stingray Corvette "Optimus Prime"
Ok, first off she doesn't transform into a Big Rig or even an Intergalactic Robot guardian, but she does transform noise into motion. Club Co-founder Bryan Puffinburger's 1972 Stingray is a cherry example of Corvette heritage. Bryan has used "Prime" as a daily ride for about 15 years. She even drag raced "Jezebel" on the way to Junior Prom, and let me tell you our dates were "thrilled." The girls have come and gone, but the muscle still roars. A 327 crate motor was installed a couple years back and then bored 30 over for a little extra punch. Mr. Puffinburger has had numerous adventures and close calls with this beast and let me tell you we are fortunate that they are both still sucking air. A lead foot and a bullet-proof clutch complete the package and redefine the old adage, "keep the dirty-side down!"
1930 Model A Ford "Lowlife"
1966 Restomod Mustang Coupe "The Mutt"
George Aponte's '66 Mustang restomod coupe. 17 inch Torque Thrust II styled rims and speed rated meats give this classic pony a ready-to-race stance. Press a button on the key chain and shaved doors pop open to meet you. A B&M ripper shifter and a monster-sized tach/shift light combo lets the driver know what kind of pony is under the saddle. George's secret is under the hood. A mystery mill propels "The Mutt" and is enough to make "Blue Oval purists" sick. Fellow SCMCS member Eric Antman helped yank the original 289 in leau for something larger. The first time we cruised with George, we soon learned that he could use his car to change the weather from clear to foggy in 3 seconds. Confused? George will show ya.
1973 Mustang Fastback "MilkToast"
Meet "MilkToast!" Frank Cappuzello's 1973 Mustang fastback. Your typical "barnfind," Frank stumbled across this beauty while delivering seafood in Sun City. He poked around and was able to talk a nice lady into parting with her single owner pony. Frank and I drove her home and it was obvious that the original 302 had to go. A lot of work, tears and cash later, the engine bay now sports a crate 351 Windsor with marine heads, hooker headers, an MSD ignition box, a whole lot of chrome and about 350hp. I'm rather fond of "Milktoast", not only because she's "Jezebel's" sister (my 73 convertible), but because I watched her transform from dream to reality.

The New Jacks (80's boxed to new school retro)
The 1990's saw a return of horsepower, where 2005 saw the return of the muscle car. With the retro styled Mustang and Challenger, and the brand spanking new Camaro, the lines are back...the displacement is up and performance figures are surpassing those of the muscle car's heyday.
